THIS year’s Blue Mango Awards, which is part of the Cebu Design Week (CDW) 2020, aims to award productive creatives during this pandemic.
Organizers said the Blue Mango Awards 2020 will entirely have new categories of trends influenced by the impact of the lockdowns caused by the Covid-19.
CDW Blue Mango Awards and affiliate events chairman Butch Carungay said organizers tailor-fitted the new categories that have been relevant under the new normal landscape.
The award, which is presented by Cebu Landmasters Inc., is CDW’s way of recognizing design excellence, celebrating creativity and encouraging productivity while on quarantine.
It has an overall cash prize pool of P200,000.
“This is all meant to engage our audience, entice participation and reward them with substantial cash prizes that we hope will be much appreciated. It also emphasizes the ubiquity of design and its importance in our daily lives,” Carungay said.
Nominees will compete in eight categories, namely food presentation, work-from-home nooks, creative personal protective equipment, mystical voter and indoor herb gardens for the minor awards.
The major award category consists of the creation of a creative business plan and Covid-19 response while the impact category is the coming up of the best
small-scale street art.
The award is open to all creatives from Regions 6, 7 and 8. They can either self-nominate or be endorsed by others. Nominations should be submitted on Oct. 23. (JOB)
