THE containerized Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Laboratory of the Provincial Government of Bohol is now operational after it received its license to operate on Monday, August 24, 2020.
Bohol Provincial Governor Arthur Yap announced this in his official Facebook page on Tuesday, August 25.
He said the laboratory, located on J.A. Clarin St., Dao, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, can run reverse-transcriptase PCR tests beginning Wednesday, August 26.
Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas spokesperson, also confirmed this in a text message sent to SunStar Cebu, saying the lab's maximum testing capacity is 200 per 24 hours.
She said this is the fourth government-owned Covid-19 testing laboratory in the region. The other three are the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-national Laboratory, DOH-Central Visayas's Cebu Tb Reference Laboratory, and the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Bohol.
The license issued to the containerized PCR laboratory in Bohol is valid until December 31, 2020. (WBS)
