Bohol Province Needs 23 Prosecutors

TAGBILARAN CITY, Cebu - The province of Bohol needs at least 23 prosecutors to immediately act on cases filed by the public in various courts in the provincial city Tagbilaran and in other parts of the province, the Provincial Prosecutor Macario Delosa said.

During a recent Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting here, Delosa said it was found that the province lacks enough prosecutors to be tasked to act on cases piled up in various courts here.

Of said required 23 prosecutors, 14 are needed in the provincial level and nine in Tagbilaran City, said Delosa. He added that as of the moment, only three have applied for the position of prosecutor and have submitted their papers at the Provincial Prosecutor's Office.

Delosa revealed that he has already forwarded the applications to Manila for President Benigno Aquino to review and approve, if the applicants pass the evaluation.
