Boysen, AEG finish strong to lock up outright semis berths in CABC

Boysen and AEG Building Prints finished the elimination round strong as they picked up victories to snag the top two seeds and the outright semifinals berths that came with it in the 2022 Cebu Architects Basketball Club on Sunday at the PAREF Springdale gym.

Boysen nipped Modern Windows, 63-62, to finish the elimination round with an unbeaten 5-0 win-loss record, while AEG Building Prints routed Unitec, 71-62, to finish as the second seed with their 4-1 card.

Chester Hinagdanan continued his fine play for Boysen as he tallied 22 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and two steals. Criz Matunog also chimed in with 19 points on 5-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, AEG got strong performances from Bong Gabison and Dexsel Caadan with the former putting up 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while the latter also had 14 markers to go with six rebounds and an incredible seven steals.

Buildrite also came away with a dominant 106-59 win over Island Premium Paint. Darren Morandante once again took the lead as he notched a triple-double of 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, to buoy Buildrite to the third seed with their 3-2 record.

In the quarterfinals, Buildrite will face off against Island Premium Paint while Unitec tangles with Modern Windows. Buildrite and Unitec will have a twice-to-beat advantage. The winners in the quarterfinals will move on to the semis where they will battle Boysen and AEG.
