Boysen, AEG move to 3-0 in Cebu Architects hoops

BOYSEN Paints and AEG came away with victories over their respective opponents last Sunday to tighten their grip of the lead in the standings of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club 2022 over at the PAREF Springdale gym in Lahug.

Boysen took down Island Paints, 62-50, while AEG survived a tough challenge by the feisty Modern Windows to emerge with a 70-66 victory. Both Boysen and Island Paints hold similar 3-0 win-loss records.

Chester Hinagdanan and Aaron Monsanto scored 12 points each and combined for 13 rebounds to help propel Boysen to the easy victory over an undermanned Island Paints squad that fielded in just six players.

Meanwhile, AEG showed their resilience as they climbed back from a 14-point deficit to stun Modern Windows. AEG floundered against an early scoring barrage from Modern Windows as they fell behind, 12-26. However, AEG turned things around in the second half to pull off the comeback win.

Dexsel Caadan led AEG with 16 points and six boards, while Bong Gabison filled the stat-sheet once again with 15 markers, seven boards, three dimes, a steal and a block. Joseph Cabigas also had 15 markers.

And finally, Buildrite posted their first win of the tournament with a 51-47 win over Unitec Pipes. Buildrite led by as much as 27 points, 38-11, but had to scramble in the endgame to pick up the win.

Kim-Kim Rebosura paced Buildrite with 21 points on an efficient 10-of-18 clip from the field.
