Actor and singer Yook Sung-jae, a member of K-pop boyband BtoB, made an appearance in Singapore at a press conference on Thursday (29 September) for the relaunch of ION Orchard’s observation deck ION Sky, ahead of his performance at ION Orchard’s eighth anniversary concert on Friday.
He was joined by CL, former member of girl group 2NE1, who made a surprise guest appearance at the press conference and shared some fashion tips.
Check out what the Korean star had to say:
Sung-jae on shopping in Singapore
“I do have interest in fashion but I’m too busy to explore a specific style for myself. I really like shopping and Singapore is a shopper’s paradise. It’s such a pity that every time I visit Singapore, I don’t have time to walk around and shop here because of work.
I hope that I get some time to shop around Singapore this visit. And if I get the chance, I would like to take up the ION Orchard membership, because I heard members can get 8 per cent discount (laughs). I want to get that discount and shop.”
Sung-jae on Orchard Road
“Before I came here, I did some research on Orchard Road and found out that there used to be lots of plantations here, but now there are so many cool buildings in their place.”
Sung-jae on his performance at ION Orchard’s eighth anniversary concert
“I will be performing two of my solo songs that I just released in August. They have never been performed live before so I’m quite nervous about presenting this to everyone. I also prepared a cover of a Chinese song, so I hope you guys look forward to them.”
Sung-jae on ION Orchard’s observation deck, ION Sky
“It’s really cool that a shopping centre has such a high observation deck like this. When I took the elevator, I felt my ears slowly getting blocked. I think one can see Singapore’s famous night scenery here very well.”
