A ‘BUBBLE’ for the vaccinated community may just be one of the solutions to temper the surge of Covid-19 cases in Cebu, a business leader said.
Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Steven Yu said this concept is viable, agreeing to the earlier suggestion of Presidential Advisor (PA) for Entrepreneurship Secretary Joey Concepcion of protecting the vaccinated population.
“We agree with the idea to create a ‘bubble’ for the vaccinated community. PA Joey’s suggestion makes a lot of sense. We need to keep our lives productive and mentally healthy to nurture healthy living,” Yu told SunStar Cebu.
Concepcion proposed that only vaccinated individuals can enter malls, restaurants and other establishments to create a safe space. This includes the staff of the establishment and the customers.
This proposal came after the National Capital Region and other neighboring areas were placed under enhanced community quarantine.
For Yu, the public is already familiar with health protocols and hiding at home will take a toll on humanity, especially after 18 months in this pandemic.
He said unvaccinated individuals can be restricted but only as far as leisure related activities are concerned.
“They can continue to exercise their rights to work in permitted industries and to access essential goods and services,” Yu said. (JOB)
