Bukidnon Cowboys downs San Fernando Buffalos in opener of Pilipinas Super League 21-Under Vis-Min Leg

The Bukidnon Cowboys hung tough in the fourth period and pulled away late for a 75-60 victory at the start of the Pilipinas Super League 21-Under Vis-Min Leg on Thursday evening at the packed Toledo City Megadome.

With the Buffalos breathing down their necks, the Buffalos found their second wind, getting key baskets from Ivo Salarda, Raul Gentallan, Earl Laniton, and Jayvee Pascua, whose three-pointer raised their lead back to double-figures, 63-52, with six minutes to go.

San Fernando tried to rally once more but Bukidnon had all the answers, en route to getting the victory.

Salarda had a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds to go with two assists, two steals, and a block. Gentallan added 13 points, seven boards, and an incredible seven steals, while Pascua came off the bench and pumped in 11 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and two assists.

Andrew Padilla led San Fernando with 15 points and four rebounds. Despite the loss, the Buffalos showed a lot of grit, as they rallied from an 18-point deficit and trimmed it to just two, 50-52, heading to the final period of action.
