FILIPINA-AMERICAN kickboxer Jackie Buntan hopes to continue her impressive run in ONE Championship as she sees action in the all-women show, ONE – “Empower” on Sept. 3, 2021 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

The 24-year-old Buntan takes on Argentinean Daniela Lopez in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai fight.

Buntan came into the ONE Championship by storm by beating Thai star Wondergirl Fairtex with a unanimous decision upset on Feb. 26. She proved that her win over Wondergirl was not a fluke after a split decision over former title challenger and No. 5 ranked Women’s Kickboxing atomweight Ekaterina Vandaryeva on April 29.

The 25-year-old Lopez is making her debut in the ONE Championship. She is a staple in the Muay Thai scene in Thailand and trains at the FA Group in Bangkok.

Lopez is the No. 4 ranked Women’s bantamweight by the World Boxing Council (WBC) Muay Thai. She won her last four fights.

Meanwhile, Team Lakay’s Jenelyn Oslim (4-2) could earn a spot in the “Empower” show if she wins her upcoming fight with Bi Nguyen (6-6) in the ONE – “Battleground III” event on Sept. 27.

The winner of the Olsim vs. Nguyen fight will be facing Grace Cleveland (5-0) as an Atomweight Grand Prix Alternate bout.

Unbeaten Filipina Denice Zamboanga (8-0) is also fighting in the same card as one of the fighters competing in the Atomweight World Grand Prix. She’s up against former UFC fighter Seo Hee Ham (23-8).

The other three bouts in the Atomweight Grand Prix are Alyona Rassohyna (13-4) vs. Stamp Fairtex (5-1), Bo Meng (17-5) against Ritu Phogat (5-1) and Itsuki Hirata (4-0) vs. Alyse Anderson (5-1).

The main event features a title defense of ONE Women’s flyweight champion Xiong Jing Nan (15-2) against Michelle Nicolini (6-2). (EKA)
