Butuan-Davao Direct Flights Launched

BUTUAN CITY - This city's economy continues to grow as domestic flights were launched to cater to the needs of investors including passengers and cargo handling operators.

Aside from investors, Butuan City is gearing up for an increase in the number of tourists, both foreign and domestic as Cebu Pacific (PSE-CEB), acknowledged as the Philippines' largest national flag carrier, launched yesterday their maiden direct flights from this city to Davao and vice-versa, with only P729 base fare. Their maiden flight was attended by top officials of Butuan and business leaders in the community.

The 72-seater Cebu Pacific Butuan-Davao and Davao-Butuan, will initially fly four times a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. It is expected to boost travel, tourism and trade in the two Northeastern and Southern Mindanao regions. (Mike U. Crismundo)
