PINOY pugs Jenny Boy Boca and Adrian Lerasan did the unthinkable, beat two Thai fighters in regional fights in Thailand.
Boca, who came in as a huge underdog, stopped one-time world title challenger and World Boxing Association (WBA) No. 5 rated flyweight Sarawut Thawornkham in the fourth round last March 1, 2020 in a WBA Asia flyweight fight at the Suamlum Night Bazaar in Bangkok.
Boca dropped Thawornkham with an overhand right in the third round. He floored him again the following round with a right hook-left hook combination. Thawornkham was able to survive the knockdown but Boca pressed on the action and forced the referee to stop the fight after a series of unanswered punches.
Boca improved to 14-6 with 12 knockouts, while Thawornkham dropped to 21-3 with 16 knckouts.
Meanwhile, Lerasan scored an eighth round technical knockout of Tanes Ongjunta to claim the vacant WBA Asia super flyweight belt.
Lerasan knocked down Ongjunta in the sixth round with a series of right punches. (EKA)
