THE Cebu Provincial Government on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, already distributed 20,000 coupon cards to residents of 18 local government units (LGUs) in southern Cebu that were affected by Typhoon Odette (Rai).

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia personally visited the 18 towns starting with Carcar City down to the town of Samboan and back to Sibonga to distribute their “Dasig Sugbo” coupon cards to their constituents.

The coupon cards contained P8,000 which can be used to their merchant partners for construction materials that can help in rebuilding their homes that were destroyed or damaged after the typhoon last year.

Aside from the QR code-enabled cards, Garcia, along with Capitol department heads and board members, also distributed medicine packs to affected constituents.

Each pack has a month supply of Vitamin C with Zinc, Vitamin B Complex, and emergency medicines such as Lagundi for cough, and paracetamol.

On Thursday, Jan. 20, Garcia and other Capitol officials continued with their distribution to the rest of the southern LGUs.

Garcia announced that affected families in southern Cebu whose homes were destroyed or totally damaged during the typhoon were entitled to P8,000 from the Capitol as typhoon aid.

Based on the Province’s data, around 90,000 families living in 36 LGUs were affected after Odette hit Cebu last year.
