AROUND 10,000 antigen test kits were turned over by the Cebu Provincial Government to the Department of Education in Central Visayas (DepEd 7) for teachers who have not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as the start of face-to-face classes nears, Capitol's media arm, Sugbo News, announced.

The antigen test kits were donated to the Capitol by private firm Limdaqui Trading Inc.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia thanked Limdaqui Trading for the donation that can be used by teachers who will be required to report to school when face-to-face classes in public elementary and high schools for the next school year start on August 22.

“You (teachers) will be given priority. You will be able to take the antigen test for free,” the governor said on Tuesday, July 12.

Garcia had earlier issued a memorandum ordering all local government units under the province not to make vaccination card a mandatory requirement for educational, employment, and other government transactions.

Garcia labeled the mandatory Covid-19 vaccination as anti-poor. (ANV, TPT)
