Promising Cebuano big man Carl Tamayo will be suiting up for the Gilas Pilipinas once again as he leads the team in the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup this July 12 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Tamayo, a native of Talisay City and the star forward of the UAAP champions University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, will be joined by B.League aces Kiefer Ravena, Dwight Ramos, and Thirdy Ravena.

The core of the team is composed of several players who played for the Gilas during the third window of the FIBA World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifers.

Guards SJ Belangel and RJ Abarrientos, along with frontcourt studs William Navarro, Francis Lopez, Geo Chiu, and Kevin Quiambao will power the team. Making a return to the national team are big man Poy Erram and wingman Bobby Ray Parks.

Parks last played for Gilas in 2017 when he donned the national colors in the 29th Southeast Asian Games. In his last season in the Japan B.League, Parks averaged 10.6 points per game and shot 38.7 percent from 3-point land.

Erram, meanwhile, gives the team additional size. In nine games so far in the PBA Philippine Cup, the TNT big man is averaging 11.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks.

Also making a return to the bench is head coach Chot Reyes.
