CCMC contractor’s contract still not terminated

THE contract termination review committee (CTRC) passed a resolution on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, calling on the Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW) to submit its verified report regarding phase 4 of the construction of the new Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).

Carl Vincent Gimena, CTRC chairman, said M.E. Sicat Construction Incorporated sent a letter to Mayor Michael Rama on November 15 requesting a “mutual termination” of the P907-million contract for the eighth, ninth and 10th floors of the CCMC.

The Office of the Mayor, through Jerone Castillo, Rama’s special assistant on projects, referred the M.E. Sicat’s letter to the CTRC for appropriate action.

Gimena, who convened the CTRC for the first time on Tuesday, November 22, said they were waiting for the reply of DEPW head Carmelita Kenneth Enriquez and DEPW assistant head Lowell Corminal, which will serve as basis for their recommendation. (PAC)
