SAFETY measures are in place to secure contingents and spectators of the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022.

According to Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for administration of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), there are no changes with their preparations.

The street dancing competition is expected to start from the Provincial Capitol around 1 p.m. The 50 contingents will parade down Osmeña Blvd. before turning right to the Cebu City Sports Complex where the grand showdown will be held.

Meanwhile, the police official said the CCPO will not ban children from watching the parade or the grand showdown.

“Parents can bring along their children. They just have to make sure that they follow all health protocols. The most important thing is they must always keep a watch on their children,” he said in Cebuano.

The CCPO and the Cebu Police Provincial Office will deploy 1,300 police personnel to maintain peace and order on Sunday.
