THE Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has decided to postpone events scheduled for June as part of the Cebu Business Month amid rising cases of Covid-19.
The chamber also said the organizing team, CBM 2020 Team, is eyeing to hold some events via live streaming and teleconferencing in line with the government's social distancing strategy against the spread of Covid-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
"The CBM 2020 Team is currently innovating to hold activities for June using the very digital tools/methods we promote, a way of accelerating the use of technology in engaging participants with more relevant agenda on business agility, continuity, resilience and inclusivity as emerging opportunities in the light of current challenges and needs," the chamber said in a statement issued Thursday, March 12.
"The opportunity to grow, promote and inspire the Cebu business community is at the heart of CBM’s value proposition, and, whilst disrupting, we feel it is the right decision to postpone our CBM 2020 to ensure the safety and health and lives of our stakeholders," the chamber added.
