Cebu City hospitals’ occupancy rate now below 60%

THE average critical care occupancy rate in 15 hospitals in Cebu City has fallen below 60 percent, with 10 hospitals now considered safe.

The Cebu City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) recorded on September 13, 2021 a critical care occupancy rate of 56.3 percent from the “above 60 percent” recorded earlier since August this year.

The 15 hospitals allocated a total of 1,026 beds dedicated for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients, with 578 already occupied and 448 beds still vacant.

The EOC data also showed that 10 hospitals in the city are considered safe with occupancy below 60 percent, one hospital in moderate zone, two high risk, and two other in critical level.

Cebu City, based on September 14 data of the EOC, has 1,352 active Covid-19 cases.

The total cases in the city reached 39,684 as of September 14, with 37,023 recoveries and 1,309 deaths. (JJL)
