SOME persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at the Cebu City Jail have been placed on isolation after experiencing cough and colds, the jail warden said Friday, August 20.

Jail Superintendent Jose Abueva said medical personnel from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology are monitoring the condition of these inmates.

The inmates have already been given medicines, but the City Jail could not determine yet whether the affected inmates have coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

"Yes, naay pipila ka PDL pero they have been segregated from the general populace, and placed for monitoring by our jail nurses and given medicine and vitamins... so far, common colds and coughs ra man," said Abueva.

The Cebu City Government has asked the City Jail to closely monitor the inmates to avoid possible transmission of the disease. (AYB)
