THE Cebu City Vaccine Advisory Board opened another Covid-19 vaccination site on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021.
Located at Tisa II Elementary School in Barangay Tisa, it is the ninth vaccination site in Cebu City.
The City Government targets to inoculate at least 1,000 individuals daily in each vaccination site.
Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama, convener of the City’s coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination program, earlier said the City aims to open a total of 21 vaccination sites to ramp up its vaccination.
Other vaccination sites in the city are at University of Cebu (UC) Banilad, Robinsons Galleria, SM Seaside City Cebu, UC Senior High School Private Campus, New Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (Noah) Complex, Ayala Center Cebu, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, and at SM City Cebu.
As of Aug. 28, the City has administered a total of 319,371 doses.
Based on the latest data provided by the City Management Information and Computer Services (MICS) officer-in-charge Richter Castañares, the City was able to inoculate 193,521 individuals for the first dose and 125,850 for the second dose.
The numbers do not include individuals vaccinated under the Project Balik Buhay (PBB) and in the hospitals.
As of Aug. 28, the MICS record shows that 524,231 individuals were registered in the City’s Covid-19 vaccination program through pabakunata.com.
The City targets to inoculate 700,000 individuals or 70 percent of the total population in Cebu City.
Cebu City Health Department officer-in-charge Jeffrey Ibones earlier said the City aims to achieve herd immunity before the end of the year. (JJL)
