Cebu Doctors’ University to expand program offerings

CEBU Doctors’ University (CDU) is planning to venture into other fields aside from its core business in medicine education with the goal to expand its program offerings.

As a globally recognized health and service-oriented educational institution, CDU has been consistently producing board placers and promising professionals in all of its current programs.

The university, owned by the Larrazabal family, will soon offer the following programs: Bachelor in Library and Information Science, Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Bachelor of Science in Food Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and Associate in Computer Technology.

The administration is also considering offering more programs centered on undergraduate and graduate degrees for education, engineering and the current baccalaureate programs such as Speech-Language Pathology, Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy.

To cope with the transition of taking on non-medical programs, Cebu Doctors’ University will initially conduct feasibility studies in order to assess the situation properly, ensuring that all resources are available and ready before any new program with the CDU brand of teaching and learning is offered.

Through almost 50 years of service, Cebu Doctors’ University’s brand of teaching and learning has resulted in a very high passing percentage and several board placers in the Professional Regulation Commission licensure examinations.

It has produced well-rounded graduates who excel in their respective fields of endeavor both in the Philippines and internationally. The university wants to replicate the standard of excellence in other fields, not just in the health-related programs they currently offer.

In line with the university’s expansion of program offerings, CDU is constructing a 14-storey building within its Mandaue campus. The new building will be named the “PVL building” in honor of the founder of the school, Dr. Potenciano Veloso Larrazabal Jr. The PVL building is made for the new generation of learners and will be built to stay up-to-date with new teaching methods as well as stay adaptive to new technologies.

This new building will enable more local and international students to benefit from CDU’s standard of excellence: both in teaching and in learning. (KBC)
