Renowned cosmetic surgeon Manny Calayan's family is donating a portion of their P100,000 prize money from “Family Feud Philippines” to the Angat Buhay Foundation.

P20,000 will go to the foundation, which was former Vice President Leni Robredo's anti-poverty program. It has since been converted into a volunteer-run organization.

The celebrity doctor's family won the game in the episode screened on July 18.

“Family Feud Philippines”, hosted by Dingdong Dantes, is the local version of the US game show with the same name.

Calayan and his wife Pie Cabrera, a skin and anti-aging expert, are behind the Manny & Pie Calayan Clinic, which specializes in cosmetics and dermatology.

Netizens are full of praised for the Calayans for choosing to donate portion of the prize money to the Robredo's newly-established foundation.

Others can help notice that the Calayan family beat celebrity couple Robert Seña and Isay Alvarez. The husband-wife theater actors are known supporters of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr..

Robredo launched the Angat Buhay Foundation in a two-day street and art festival on July 1 and 2 in Quezon City.

The non-governmental organization will continue her “Angat Buhay” program launched during her six-year stint as vice president.

Robredo said Angat Buhay will have four key areas:

  • Angat Kalusugan, a nutrition and food security program

  • Angat Edukasyon which will continue building classrooms and dorms including 129 community learning hubs

  • Disaster relief and rehabilitation which will receive donations for relief operations

  • Community engagement which aims to gather and organize volunteers

Angat Buhay says it is also reaching out to the government for possible collaboration on their projects, saying it will initiate talks with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo on how they can work together.

Tulfo has previously expressed willingness to work with Robredo’s Angat Buhay, saying that helping mustn't be tainted with any political colors.
