Celebrity Gogglebox stars Bez and Shaun Ryder have ended up becoming so popular on the Channel 4 programme that fans actually want them to get their own show – but if it happens, it probably won't have anything to do with technology.
During tonight's episode (July 10), the Happy Mondays stars once again provided the main source of entertainment as the two of them endured a mammoth struggle to turn off an iPhone.
Not wanting to be disturbed by the outside world while filming the show, Bez announced his intention to turn off his mobile device, but quickly realised he didn't know how.
He then passed it to his mate Shaun, who didn't know either.
"Right, hang on," said Shaun determinedly after taking the phone off Bez. "I know how to do this 'cause I turned mine off once."
As Shaun struggled, Bez worriedly interjected: "I don't think you can turn them off."
Not giving up, Shaun preceded to press all manner of buttons on the side of the device, but to no avail. "Hey, Siri, turn the f**king phone off," he said.
Thankfully, in what can only be described as some sort of miracle, Siri spoke out to Bez and informed him how to turn off the phone – just in case you're having a similar nightmare, on the newer models you have to hold down both the power and one of the volume buttons for three seconds.
With a moderate disaster avoided, Bez then turned to Shaun and said: "You must sound like me 'cause she'll not answer to no-one else. You must sound exactly like I do.
"That's mad that, innit?"
