Cemetery visit only until 10 p.m. in Cordova, Danao

THE public is allowed to visit cemeteries in Cordova and Danao towns in Cebu only until 10 p.m. on All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

Cordova Mayor Cesar Suan and Danao City Mayor Thomas Durano issued their respective executive orders (EO) Thursday, October 27, mandating the dos and don’ts on November 1 and 2.

In his EO 17, Suan said visitors may enter cemeteries in Cordova as early as 6 a.m. to prevent overcrowding inside the cemeteries.

Drinking liquor, karaoke and selling goods inside cemeteries are prohibited.

Suan also urged the people to clean their surroundings especially after their visit.

He said wearing of face masks is encouraged as a number of people are expected on those days.

Durano, for his psrt, issued EO 51, which stated that curfew for minors will continue even during the Kalagkalag commemoration.

He said bringing of bladed weapons inside the cemeteries is not allowed.

Bags will also be inspected at the entrance and exit points of the cemeteries.

Durano said they will assign parking areas for those visiting from other areas, they there will be a fee for parking.

He ordered the police and traffic personnel to strictly implement the EO. (ANV/LMY)
