THE Commission on Higher Education (Ched) has awarded Carcar City College a Certificate of Program Compliance for its Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program effective Academic Year 2022-2023.

With the four other courses of the college already certified earlier as also complying with the prescribed minimum requirements of Ched to offer such programs, this means all the five courses of Carcar City College are now compliant in their course offerings, said Candice Acuña, the city’s public information officer, on Monday, May 30, 2022.

The latest certificate was issued on April 7, 2022.

The public school received the COPC for its Bachelor of Science in Criminology program on Aug. 2, 2021, Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Bachelor of Science in Office Administration programs on Sept. 1, 2021, and Bachelor of Arts in English Language program on Oct. 14, 2021.

The college on Luan-luan St., Barangay Poblacion 1, Carcar City, Cebu was founded by then mayor and now Vice Mayor Nicepuro Apura in 2010 to give residents an option to get a college education without going to Cebu City.

The local government also acknowledged Carcar Mayor Mercy Apura, the City Council, the board of trustees and the school administration for the award.

“This award was not a walk in the park. There were numerous criteria that they had to comply with in each of the five courses, But with God’s grace and perseverance of our founder, board of trustees and school administration, Carcar City College was given such distinction,” Acuña said.

The Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) is a recognition that the specific degree programs being offered by state and local universities and colleges are fully compliant with the policies, standards and guidelines of Ched. (CTL)
