Christmas village rises in Taguig

Treat the entire family out for a holiday cheer without spending too much by dropping by a Christmas village in Taguig.
 
Imee Heraldo, an events organizer from Taguig City Office, suggests you to try and visit Taguig Christmas Village in Upper Bicutan, Taguig City this holiday season.
 
“Everyone who wants to have fun may come here every day. We prepared something like Disneyland that features Disney characters like Tinkerbell and Captain Hook,” Heraldo says.

“We brought them here so that our people would feel they don’t need to go out of the country to have a blast this Christmas. Christmas is already here in Taguig Christmas Village,” she adds.
 
Set up at Taguig City University (TCU) Tent inside the Justice Hall Compound in Upper Bicutan, the Christmas Village showcases various kinds of doll houses, including a miniature Santa home.
 
The installation also features miniature versions of popular buildings from London to Paris, which would give guests a hint of how it would be like in Europe. 

The Christmas village is open to the public until January 6. It opens at 9 am.
 
“All the materials we used are recycled and everything here are developed in Taguig by residents of Taguig like water lily technology,” Heraldo says.

Kids would surely have a great time with other children inside inflatable playgrounds while adults may indulge in food fares or shop in the Christmas bazaar inside the same compound, she adds.
 
Heraldo added performers like dancers and acrobats are also in the area for added entertainment.
 
“We invited 900 children in the event coming in. We also have students from different universities like TCU (Taguig City University), PUP (Polytechnic University of the Philippines) and from high schools all over Taguig,” she says.

“We want to promote that you don’t have to go out of town just to experience something like this. You don’t even need to pay, all they need to do is to come here and enjoy. It’s free,” Heraldo notes.
