Church official positive for coronavirus
RETIRED Cebu Auxiliary Bishop Antonio Rañola has been found positive for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease 2019, a church official said.
Monsignor Joseph Tan, spokesperson of the Archdiocese of Cebu, confirmed the matter to SunStar Cebu on Saturday night, February 20, 2021.
Rañola, 88, was one of those being contact traced after Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma was found positive for the coronavirus on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
Since Rañola was one of the close contacts of Palma, he was subjected to a swab test on Friday.
