LAPU-LAPU City Lone District Representative-elect Cynthia “Cindi” King-Chan has vowed to finish all the ongoing projects of outgoing District Rep. Paz Radaza during her term.

King-Chan, wife of reelected Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan, told reporters on Friday, June 17, 2022, that she will push for the completion of Radaza’s pending projects since the people expect her to finish them all.

“We will, of course, finish them kay naa naman na sa (because they are included in the) budget, na-budgetan naman na (there’s already a budget for them),” said the current chairperson of the city’s Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission.

King-Chan said they just have to push the contractors and the Department of Public Works and Highways to expedite the ongoing projects, particularly the road repairs.

She also revealed that Radaza, who was defeated in the mayoral race, expressed willingness to turn over the documents she would like to have.

But the outgoing district representative reportedly told her to come up with a list of documents.

King-Chan said she would like to get her hands on the documents about the pending projects “because the people expect me to finish them all.”

Meanwhile, King-Chan also said she already requested all the 30 barangays in the city to submit their wishlist of projects for funding from the National Government.

The incoming district representative said she will look for a way to get additional funding, particularly for the projects not included in the 2023 budget, as she expressed hope that she will be part of several committees in Congress.
