THE Cebu City Council will provide financial and technical support to Cebuana beauty queens and newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez who are set to represent the country in international pageants.

Cebu City Councilor and committe head on youth and sports development Jessica Resch, in her privilege speech during the Council's regular session on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, said though it is a bit late, it is just proper for the City to support Perez and Gomez who brought pride and joy to the City for their recent achievements.

Both Gomez and Perez represented Cebu City in their respective bids.

"...those like her (Gomez), who despite not getting a single cent of support would gamble everything and wear Cebu City proudly acrosa her chest," Resch said noting that Gomez did not openly inform anyone that she was "scrimping" on her budget for the pageant.

"She (Gomez) never faltered in her resolution to bring home the crown for her beloved Cebu City, truly a class act, with head up high-a true definition of Cebuana," Resch said.

Aside from Gomez and Perez, the council also commended Dr. Shaila Rebortera, representing Talisay City, and Steffi Rose Aberasturi, representing Cebu Province, who finished as Miss Multinational Philippines 2021 in Miss World Philippines 2021 and second runner up in Miss Universe Philippines 2021 respectively.
