FILIPINO-AMERICAN Mark Climaco is back to his winning ways following a convincing unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten Cody Davis in one of the undercard bouts of Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) 137 on July 29, 2022 at The Commerce Casino and Hotel in Commerce, California.

Climaco, who has Cebuano roots, totally outclassed Davis and got the nod of all three judges with identical scores of 30-27.

The 24-year-old Climaco successfully bounced back from his first career defeat and improved to 7-1 win-loss record.

Davis had his first career setback and dropped to 5-1.

Climaco was quickly rising up the flyweight division of the American MMA scene. He was close to making the big league but suffered a first round stoppage loss to Japanese Yuma Horiuchi last year. Following his win over Climaco, Horiuchi earned a spot at the flyweight tournament of the Road to UFC in Singapore. The winner of the flyweight tournament would earn a UFC contract.

Meanwhile, another Filipino-American fighter that fought in the same card, Karlee Pangilinan, wasn’t as fortunate.

Pangilinan was stopped by Mefi Monterroso in the second round via ground-and-pound.

Pangilinan suffered his third straight defeat and dropped to 6-3, while Monterroso is now also 6-3.
