Concert topbilled by Jessica Sanchez held tonight at Solaire Resort & Casino

A concert topbilled by Filipina-American Jessica Sanchez of "American Idol" fame which is slated tonight (March 16) will highlight the month-long first anniversary celebration of the Solaire Resort Casino, $1.2 billion integrated destination resort, and the first of four properties to open in the Entertainment City, a government sponsored (Philippine Amusement & Gaming  Corporation) economic development zone.

Solaire's first anniversary celebration kicked off last March 1, 2014. The first concert presented was that of The Earth, Wind & Fire (March), and the Incognito Concert on March 11. Other forthcoming concerts are the Abbamania Concerr on March 21, and te Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet concert on March 28. All concerts are held at the grand ballroom of Solaire.

Solaire's President and COO and board member Thomas Arasi said "It has been an incredible first year which Solaire has developed and evolved to the remarkable destination resort that we are today. What better way to commemorate this special time than with eclectic, fun-filled concerts and events which truly encompass so many performances here at Solaire over the past months." He also expressed his deepest gratitude to the men and women behind the organization and the sponsors and media for helping out to ensure the success of these events.

Among the other activities held at Solaire Resort Casino include the Pinoy Pride Boxing XXIV, the Star Awards for Movies, the Solaire open Golf Championship, the FHM Bikini Heaven HD Autocar Launch.

Also performing with Jessica Sanchez in tonight's concert, which according to Jasper Evangelista, Solaire's VP for Brand and Marketing, is the "pinnacle of our month-long revelry of activities," are Mark Bautista, Sheryn Regis, Morisette Amon, Klarisse de Guzman, Eric Santos and Hollie Cavanagh, Sanchez's fellow "American Idol" finalist. The concert is directed by Calvin Neria.

Asked how it felt to be back again in the Philippines. Sanchez said "I'm very excited; every time I come here, I feel more and more at home." Fresh from a fundraising concert held in New York for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda, Sanchez added "I'm just so happy the help the people in Tacloban..."

As to the songs she will be singing tonight, Sanchez said "a couple of covers, a couple of songs from my album, and a lot more - from ballads to fast songs." She would love to sing a Tagalog song she said, if given enough time to learn one. And yes, she would love to stay longer if not for her commitments in the United States.

All the other artists in the concert expressed excitement for the chance to perform with the "AI" champion. Mark said he's very excite, being a fan of Sanchez, and so with Sheryn Regis who's now based in Texas, USA since 2010 and who will be performing for the first time with Sanchez. On her part, Cavanagh expressed her gratitude to Sanchez for tagging her along to the Philippines.

By the way, Solaire Resort & Casino is the property of Bloomberry Resorts Corporation that sits on an 8.3-hectare site in Paranaquea City. Solaire's Bay Tower (Phase 1) features 500 luxurious rooms, suites and bayside villas, 18,500 sq.m. of gaming space, a wide range of signature restaurants, sophisticated bars and lounges and an ample multi-level car park.
