Construction worker found dead in Lapu-Lapu

A 46-YEAR-OLD construction worker was found dead in a waiting shed in Sitio Kabaloy, Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City on Thursday morning, June 23, 2022.

The victim was identified as Peter Acero, a native of Cambete Sogod, Southern Leyte.

Police Master Sergeant Kenneth Demorillon of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Station 2 told SunStar Cebu that Acero was residing in Barangay Looc in the city and was working as construction worker in Sitio Bukid-bukid in Barangay Pajac.

Initial investigation revealed that Demorillon sustained a stab wound on the left side of his body, and this could have led to his death.

The victim was found lifeless around 4 a.m. Thursday but it was reported to authorities about two hours after.

Acero was seen drinking liquor around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at his working area.

Demorillon said further investigation is being conducted to determine the motive in the killing.
