The Converge FiberXers ended its two-game slump in emphatic fashion, defeating the Terrafirma Dyip, 97-84, in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday afternoon at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Maverick Ahanmisi shone for Converge as he scored 14 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, sparking the game-deciding run that led to the FiberXers getting their second win in five games.

With Terrafirma pulling to within two, 81-83, after a free-throw by Eric Camson, Ahanmisi stepped up and canned a triple to push their lead back to five, 86-81, with 2:26 remaining. That lit a fire under Converge as they eventually widened the gap to claim the win.

Aside from his timely shotmaking, Ahanmisi also had eight rebounds, and eight assists, and sizzled from behind the arc, canning five three-pointers.

Mike DiGregorio paced Converge with 19 while David Murell added 15 markers. Rookie big man Justin Araña also had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Terrafirma got 18 points from Joseph Gabayni, while Cebuano forward Aldrech Ramos pitched in 15. Juami Tiongson and Camson contributed 13 apiece for Terrafirma, which remained winless in four outings so far in this tournament.
