The Converge FiberXers got back on the winning track with a 112-108 win over the NLEX Road Warriors on Thursday evening in the PBA Season 47 Philippine Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The win put an end to Converge’s two-game slump and improve their win-loss record to 3-5.

It was a close game for the first three periods with Converge clinging to a slim one-point lead, 77-76, heading to the final stanza. However, the FiberXers kicked off the fourth with a 9-0 blast to lead, 86-76.

They continued to put their foot on the gas pedal and eventually raised their lead to a high of 16, 98-82, after a three-pointer by Taylor Browne with five minutes remaining in the ballgame.

NLEX tried to rally but could only come within four as time expired on their comeback attempt. The Road Warriors have now lost back-to-back games and stand at 4-4.

David Murrell scored 21 points on a super-efficient 10-of-14 shooting clip, while rookie Tyrus Hill added 18 points, making all but one of his nine attempts from the field. Browne added 15 while Justin Arana had 11 markers.

Kris Rosales scored 29 points including seven three-point makes, while Don Trollano chipped in 18 markers.
