Dynevor has asked for skating tips from 'Corrie' pals including Samia Longchambon. (ITV)

She said: "I went with (daughter) Hattie when she was little and I had a penguin and thought this is too hard and so I'll go and get a coffee.

"I'm not getting any younger so I've just got to take every opportunity I can get so when I'm older I can say I gave it a go.

"I'm not competitive or anything, I just want to do this for myself just to give me a bit of confidence and do something different."

Adding that she'd been asked to take part many times before, she said: "I'm 58, if I don't do it this year I'm never going to do it. It's completely out of my comfort zone and I'm absolutely terrified...but I've just got to try and enjoy this experience."

She said: "I'm not saying I'm going to be good, I'm just having a go."

This year's contestants will need nerves of steel to take part in the show as Dancing On Ice 2021 saw the highest number of drop outs due to injury or illness that the competition had ever seen.

Denise Van Outen had to quit with a dislocated shoulder, Billie Shepherd was concussed, Jason Donovan suffered a back injury, and Rufus Hound and Joe-Warren Plant both tested positive for COVID.

Pro skaters had a tough series too, with Hamish Gaman suffering a finger injury and Yebin Mok had to have surgery after her partner Graham Bell accidentally stabbed her in the leg with his skating blade.
