Courteney Cox and David Arquette finalise divorce

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have officially ended their marriage.

The couple’s divorce was finalised on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The 48-year-old Friends star and her Scream actor beau announced their separation back in October 2010.

They filed divorce papers in June 2012.

Courteney and David, who got together after meeting on the set of the first Scream movie in 1995, will share joint custody of their eight-year-old daughter Coco.

The couple have enjoyed an amicable breakup, with Courtney in the audience to support her estranged husband when he appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2011.

"I appreciate David more now than I ever did,” the Cougar Town star told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show earlier this year. “It's hard. I don't recommend divorce in general, but, you know, he is my best friend and we've both grown and changed. I think we both appreciate each other more. I hope he does. I do."

Courteney is currently single, while David is dating Entertainment Tonight correspondent Christina McLarty.

The actor has also been effusive in his praise for his ex-wife.

"She's incredible,” he told People. “I love her, too, and she's an amazing person, a beautiful person."
