With work underway on The Crown season 4, we finally have a new look at actress Emma Corrin as Princess Diana – and it's safe to say that Corrin was definitely a spot-on casting.

While it's not clear just yet at what point the Netflix show's fourth season will pick up from, the season 3 finale featured Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee in 1977, which is also the same year that Lady Diana first met the Prince of Wales at the age of 16.

Previous set pictures have also seen Corrin and her co-star Josh O'Connor recreating Princess Diana and Prince Charles' trip to Australia in 1983 – two years after the royal couple got married in 1981.

And thanks to a new on-set picture, we now have a look at Princess Diana's arrival at the The Savoy in London for the Barnardo's Champion Awards in May 1989.

In the new photo, Corrin can be seen recreating that exact moment that Princess Diana arrived at The Savoy, including wearing a similar floral dress and sporting the familiar Diana hairstyle.

The result is a pretty spot-on recreation – an original image from the event is below, for comparison – proving that Corrin is a real royal doppelgänger, for sure.

Corrin previously impressed The Crown fans with her similarity to Diana, Princess of Wales late last year when more filming pictures emerged, showing Corrin and O'Connor filming the royal couple's visit to Perth's Fremantle Hospital in April 1983.

Speaking about her casting in the role when it was announced, Corrin described taking on the role of Princess Diana in The Crown as "surreal".

"I have been glued to the show and to think I'm now joining this incredibly talented acting family is surreal.

"Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To explore her through Peter Morgan's writing is the most exceptional opportunity and I will strive to do her justice."

Meanwhile, Sex Education's Gillian Anderson will also feature in the fourth season of the hit Netflix show, starring as Margaret Thatcher, the UK's Prime Minister between 1979 and 1990.

The Crown seasons 1-3 are available now on Netflix.
