MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is encouraging all government agencies to open for application all vacant positions in their offices.
According to CSC Commissioner Aileen Lizada, the government still has more than 260,000 vacant plantilla positions.
Thus, the agency will launch a five-day online government career fair from September 14 to 18 to accept applications for the said open positions.
All vacancies are listed on jobstreet.com.ph.
Applicants must pass the Civil Service Exam to apply.
“We are allowing now the interviews online, submission of requirements online to make it more convenient to the transacting public, ” Lizada explained.
The CSC also appeals to agencies to give opportunities to applicants who are technically qualified instead of “reserving” the position to applicants endorsed through connections.
“Huwag na mag-reserve. Kasi ang iba naman dyan, sa totoo lang talaga, nagrereserve ng posisyon kasi mayroong manok na hindi pa eligible, (Please do not reserve [positions]. Other agencies are saving some positions for a favored applicant who isn’t eligible yet),” the Commissioner said.
Lizada said the government has vacancies from clerical positions to division heads whose monthly pay is based on the Salary Standardization Law.
To date, there are about 34 government agencies that are joining the online career fair in September. MNP (with reports from Rey Pelayo)
