AN ALLEGED cult leader was arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI 7) for allegedly raping and impregnating some women and children in his group.

The NBI 7 arrested Teodoro Rico Feriol at his house in Barangay San Isidro, Asturias town at Thursday dawn, May 12, 2022.

Feriol was arrested based on two warrants of arrest issued by Judge Judilyn Hugo Tapia-Menchavez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 8 in Toledo City.

Feriol, who is facing rape and child abuse charges, cannot post bail.

The complainants are two women who claimed to have been raped and impregnated by Feriol last year.

Feriol, who is known by his followers as “Brod Doring,” allegedly committed the crimes at his own “temple” in Asturias.

The two complainants claimed that Feriol would often require his female followers who are seeking cure for their illnesses to do “missions of spiritual obligation” by having sex with him at his temple for several nights.

As a result, Feriol allegedly impregnated some of his followers, women and girls.

The suspect is currently detained in the NBI Cebu District Office in Cebu City and he will be turned over to Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center while awaiting trial.

He is facing charges for violating Article 266-A of Republic Act (RA) 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 and RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
