Daiana Menezes Engaged Anew

MANILA, Philippines - Daiana Menezes is once again off the market following her recent engagement to Cagayan de Oro Representative Jose Benjamin "Benjo" Benaldo.

Menezes tried to keep matter private but the media got wind of it after having observed the 25-year-old beauty wearing a diamond ring in a recent event.

Apparently, the Brazilian model-actress was worried about the engagement being viewed in the wrong light by the public inasmuch as it is her second in the last two years, having been also engaged to TV director GB Sampedro in 2011 prior to their much publicized break up.

Nonetheless Menezes feels that she "deserves" her newfound happiness.

"I'd rather give myself a chance to be happy and make others happy too," she told PEP.

Though she admits that her break up with Sampedro was quite "traumatic," she said she is not one to easily give up on love.

"Totoo pala ang kasabihan that after the storm, there's sunshine," she maintained.

The whirlwind romance started when Menezes met Benaldo early this year at a restaurant, with the congressman immediately taking the chance to introduce himself to the statuesque beauty.

Months later, during a European vacation, Benaldo, a divorcee who was also linked to several other local actresses in the past, was already proposing to Menezes by the famed Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Menezes revealed that Benaldo already met her parents.

"Iba siya. Iba siya talaga. Pumunta siya sa Brazil. Nagpakilala siya sa father ko. First time ko nakita na natutuwa ang dad ko. And my mom is so in love with him."

The couple is yet to schedule a wedding date.
