Dance instructor accused of molesting minors, falls

A DANCE instructor accused of molesting his trainees was arrested by police on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., July 19, 2022, in Sitio Taytayan, Barangay Buhisan, Cebu City.

Major Janilito Marquez, chief of Labangon Police Station, said in an interview with SunStar Cebu that the 53-year-old suspect, identified as Christopher Pascual, was arrested by Labangon police, along with personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Mandaue field unit and the Regional Intelligence Unit, based on the complaints of his three girl trainees aged 12 to 14 and by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Stephen Ian Belacho of Cebu City RTC-7 Branch 22 on July 14, 2022.

"Kanang iyang tudloag sayaw sagad minor 12 ngadto sa 14 anyos, iyahang sugo-on sa pagpalit og candy ang uban unya dayon hilabtan," Marquez said.

(His dance trainees who are mostly minors with ages ranging from 12 to 14, would be asked to buy candy, then molest some of them).

The suspect, however, denied the accusation against him.

Pascual will possibly be facing a charge of statutory rape. (GPL, TPT)
