DepEd 7: Opening of F2F classes ‘greatest achievement’ of Marcos

LIBERATION of people to live within the new normal is the greatest achievement of President Ferdinand "BongBong" Marcos Jr. during his first 100 days of service, said a top education official.

In an interview with SunStar Cebu on Friday, October 7, 2022, Department of Education (DepEd)-Central Visayas Director Salustiano Jimenez said re-opening the economy and schools is one of the accomplishments Marcos made during his first three months as the Philippine president.

"For allowing the Department of Education to implement face-to-face classes is one great contribution of President Marcos. Of course, with the leadership of our Vice President Sara Duterte because that's the clamor of our parents," said Jimenez.

"Also, because of the opening of the face-to-face classes, small businesses were brought back to life and gained income. Everybody benefited, including our mental health improved after being in lockdown for a long time," he added.

Jimenez cited that it is normal that some of Marcos' programs are not yet felt by Filipinos, stressing that his first 100 days of service served as a period of adjustment.

Jimenez hoped Marcos would continue his programs for improving the country's agriculture and establish good relations with different countries, which he believed was imperative to the Philippines' development. (HIC)
