THE Department of Education Central Visayas (DepEd 7) can expect a new regional director in 2021, according to the incumbent regional director Salustiano Jimenez.
In a phone interview, Jimenez told SunStar Cebu that he has received a reassignment order in 2020 and that he will be the next regional director in Region 6 or the Western Visayas.
He said DepEd has started the reshuffling or reassignment in Luzon in 2020.
However, Jimenez said due to the pandemic, the reshuffling in the Visayas was delayed.
Jimenez said he has yet to receive the schedule of the turn-over with Undersecretary for Field Operations Revsee Escobedo.
He said the schedule will depend on the agreement and documents are still being prepared.
It has been part of the policy of DepEd to reshuffle every three years of service. According to Jimenez, there are also times when the directors are reshuffled regardless of their years of service.
Jimenez said DepEd Eastern Visayas Regional Director Dr. Ramir Uytico, another Cebuano, will replace him as the DepEd 7 director.
Uytico has been assigned as the superintendent in Dumaguete City, and then as the assistant regional director in Caraga Region before he became the Eastern Visayas director.
Jimenez said he knows that Uytico is an able director. (KFD)
