MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Tuesday (October 29) that the extension of ePassport validity is no longer allowed in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

The new policy has taken effect this month, October 2019.

Thus, the DFA recommends that all passport renewal applicants file for new passports at least one year before the date of expiry.

Applicants may secure passport appointment slots through http://passport.gov.ph.
