MANILA, Philippines - Camera lights dimmed for good for movie director Anthony Taylor when he passed away July 4 due to cardiac arrest. Taylor was 71.
Taylor joined celebrated directors Mario O'Hara and Tony Espejo who both died just a few weeks ago.
It was talent manager Manny Valera who broke the news about Taylor's death via Twitter. Valera said Taylor suffered a heart attack at the house of singer and businesswoman Claire dela Fuente and that the director was rushed to the Ospital ng Mandaluyong where the latter was declared dead on arrival.
Taylor directed the sexy films ''Unang Gabi,'' ''Climax'' at ''Hayok,'' as well as the film 70's version of ''Dyesebel'' starring Alma Moreno.
He also made a career in radio-hosting, as well as acting in the comedy film ''Pido Dida: Sabay Tayo'' which was headlined by the late comedian Rene Requiestas and Queen of All Media Kris Aquino; crime-thriller ''Dahas'' with Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and Richard Gomez; and sexy film ''Walang Kawala'' which starred Polo Ravales and Jean Garcia.
