Dizon, Torregoza rule Tatak Rekoleto: Jubilee Run 2022

JHONN Marc Dizon and Artjoy Torregoza conquered the 12-kilometer race of the USJ-R @75 Tatak Rekoleto: Jubilee Run at the Cebu City Sports Center on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.

Dizon crossed the finish line in 41 minutes and 42 seconds to win the men’s crown, while Torregoza clocked in 50:01 to bag home the women’s diadem.

Dizon and Torregoza are both members of the University of San Carlos track and field team and Team Kuya Running.

The runners-up in the men’s division were Oswaldo Arcero who timed in 44:49 and Elthon Durango who came in at 56:17; while in the distaff side were Joy Baldos and Lucita Fernandez who registered 58:22 and 1:01:15, respectively.

The champions in the 6K category were Benjamin Joshua Ordeniza (26:30, men’s student), Mariah Hillay Acebedo (28:40, women’s student), Odiza Abellana (33:29, women’s alumni/employees) and Bryant Kent Catubig (28:50, men’s alumni/employee).

For the 3K distance, the winners were Louie Opsima (13:36, men’s student), Sheria Bermudo (18:19, women’s student), Joseph Darius Simene (16:30, men’s alumni/employee) and Azalea de Jesus (17:50, women’s alumni/employee).

The run was organized by the University of San Jose-Recoletos Alumni Association Inc. as one of the activities celebrating the university’s 75th year.

The other activities include the grand alumni homecoming, launching of short film series and conduct of community outreach programs.
