“HELP us help you.”
Medical doctors in Central Visayas are calling for accuracy and transparency in reporting coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases and for strict observance of public safety protocol, such as wearing of mask, hand washing and social distancing, among others.
In their position paper issued Sunday, June 14, 2020, the Philippine College of Physicians-Central Visayas chapter (PCP-CV) appealed to the public to help the medical care frontliners cope with the growing number of Covid cases.
“The truthful reporting of information will spike awareness and vigilance among the public,” reads a portion of their statement.
They also hope for occupational safety and good health among exhausted frontliners.
The most effective way to desaturate hospitals and “significantly push Covid transmission down to controllable measures” is for Cebuanos to abide by standard measures recommended by the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The PCP-CV represents 900 physicians specializing in adult medical care (internal medicine) throughout Cebu. (WBS)
