DOH confirms one new COVID-19 death

The Department of Health (DOH) released a statement on Saturday (March 14) confirming a new death among the confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The announcement states that patient PH40 expired late evening of Friday, March 13, from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome due to severe pneumonia with concomitant acute kidney injury.

The said patient was confined at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center last March 3 after onset of symptoms last February 24.

Patient PH40 was a 54-year- old Filipino male, from Lanao del Sur, with no travel history and had no known exposure to persons with COVID-19.

PH40’s death brings the total number of COVID-19 mortalities in the country to six (6).
