A TOTAL of 1,235 private employees have received assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE 7) through the agency's Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program in the first seven months of 2022.

DOLE 7 Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Lilia Estillore said in a conference with employers that for the month of July alone, they assisted at least 129 workers who filed a request for assistance (RFA) for allegedly not receiving the benefits that they were entitled to.

Most of the RFAs filed involved understated salaries, unreleased benefits such as maternity pay, 13th month pay, holiday pay, night shift differential, service incentive leave, and overtime pay, among others.

Estillore said the 129 employees had already received a total of P2.1 million in salary adjustments and other benefits from their respective employers after being assisted by the agency.

Through the agency's SEnA program, the Single Entry Approach Desk Officers from the different field offices of DOLE 7 will help facilitate the RFAs of the affected workers.

In the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, at least 40 workers who filed their RFAs already got their salary adjustments amounting to P1.04 million.

There were also 48 workers in Negros Oriental and 26 in Bohol who received P391,000 and P271,447 in pay adjustments, respectively.

Cebu had 11 employees, while Siquijor had four workers who got P271,447 and P73,500 in monetary claims, respectively.

In the first six months of 2022 from January to June, a total of 1,106 workers already settled their cases with their employers through the agency's SEnA.

Aside from DOLE 7, other government agencies in the Central Visayas that offered the SEnA program are the National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, National Labor Relations Commission-Regional Arbitration Branch and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.

The DOLE 7 invites other employees who have similar labor-related problems to visit their office and file a SEnA. (PAC, TPT)
