DOLE launches ‘Tik Talk’ info drive on Facebook

THE Department of Labor and Employement in Central Visayas (DOLE 7) has launched a new concept to share information to the public through Facebook live discussions dubbed "Tik Talk."

The program, spearheaded by DOLE 7 Director Lilia Estillore, started last week and this will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through the DOLE Region VII Facebook page.

The "Tik Talkers" composed of heads of the agency's different regional field offices, divisions, units and representatives will discuss various topics, including General Labor Standards, Occupational Safety and Health Standards and other social legislations.

“Doing these mini-labor education discussions live on FB is a concrete translation of the DOLE 7’s inclusive communication program. We want everyone to be included. We want everyone to get access to this platform, where they can actively interact with the Tik Talkers by sending in their comments,” Estillore said.

“Someone asked me, why Tik Talk? We coined the name in such a way that it would also encourage the millennials to also view and participate. We are now trying to standardize the contents of the discussions to ensure that whatever we share to the public has been carefully scrutinized and validated to ensure alignment with the latest issuances and pronouncements. We would welcome all comments to make the Labor Tik Talk more relevant to the public,” she added. (PAC, TPT)
